The SLAM SDK opens up FJD's P2 and S2 scanning hardware to custom robotics and autonomous-platform integrations, with builds available for Windows, Linux-aarch64 and Linux-x86. Rather than being locked into the handheld/backpack workflow, developers can mount a Trion scanner on an autonomous rover or drone and pull SLAM-tracked point cloud data directly into their own software stack. FJD points to use cases including autonomous inspection of substations and chemical plants, mapping in hazardous or low-visibility environments such as mines and tunnels, and smart-warehouse automation — a fit for UK systems integrators building custom inspection or logistics robots around proven scanning hardware rather than developing LiDAR SLAM from scratch.
