The S1 is built around versatility rather than a single form factor: the same scanner head mounts to a handheld grip, a backpack rig, a drone or a vehicle, so a single unit can cover interiors, large outdoor areas, aerial passes or roadside corridors. Dual hot-swappable batteries give roughly four hours of combined runtime, and FJD quotes around 100m² (roughly 1,000 sq ft) captured in about two minutes of walking. Paired with a V1t RTK rover it produces georeferenced, centimetre-class outdoor point clouds without needing ground control points — a workflow FJD's own case studies show cutting stockpile volume surveys from a full day down to under 20 minutes. A dedicated S1 Pro variant with upgraded hardware also exists, though a full public spec table for it was not available at time of writing — see the gaps note in the accompanying manifest.
